USCIS "old" website still available (all pages) until Nov 30 2006

If you are trying to access old links or pages at www.uscis.gov for the time being you can still reach the old webserver and website directly. Simply replace the "uscis.gov" portion of the link with the following IP address: 149.101.23.2

For example the main website: http://www.uscis.gov is now http://149.101.23.2

or for the following old link:

http://uscis.gov/graphics/fieldoffices/cal...nia/aboutus.htm

you can still reach it at:

http://149.101.23.2/graphics/fieldoffices/...nia/aboutus.htm

So if you need a quick dirty way to access old links or catpure information before it goes offline this method will work. The site is completely navigatible as well. If you pass this along please link back to this article (as we were the first to discover this I think).

If you are wondering the IP above is owned by the Dept of Justice (US Government) so this is the real old site and not a fake. They simply redirected the www.uscis.gov domain name to the new server (however still allowing you to access the old server!).

Google is your friend :). Was searching for info on the old site (cached) and saw a link with the above IP. Once I realized it could access the site directly (old site) then it just made sense what happened. They also noted that on the front page (that it will be up until Nov 30).
