advice on medical examination

hi all I just thought this will help... It would be better for those of you waiting for your interviews to know this. better do your exams as early as you can because this can also cause unnecessary delay. I went for my medicals on 11th and was told my chest x-ray was not clear that i need to do a sputum test that takes 8 WHOLE weeks. I was so disappointed because I had to reschedule my interview from march 28 to 22nd May. I had all the time I needed to put things inorder but i assumed all will be well and waited to do the medicals later how i wish I knew better. so if you can go for the exam and then wait for your interview. hope this helps someone.

my interview email came on 1st feb and my interview was on 28th march. so i could have saved myself by going for medicals earlier

a-ha, this provides some insight. I remember I mailed the doctor that will preform the exam a few months ago before I knew anything about the process. this is part of the response

You need to have an interview date at the Embassy before you can make an appointment with us. You should NOT take the x-ray and blood test before you have received the interview date. The exception is fiancé visa applicants/K1, who needs to do the medical examination before they get an interview date.

but as soon as you receive your interview date the first thing you need to do is medicals.and with a case no you can do it.the results are valid for 6months.

Good luck with your interview on the 22nd. I am in the NVC stage at this time. Good to know about the doing the medical way in advance when u get the interview date and that it is good for 6 months. It seems that the Kenyan embassy takes a long time to schedule/re-schedule IR1/CR1 cases. I saw that u got a case complete at the end of last year and u got an interview date email on february and the actual interview date was for March. Good luck on your interview. Please update us on the questions that they will ask you so that it can help us that are prepping for it.
