Hi there to all VJ Members,

Greetings! We are so close now for our coming Interview at the US Consulate Manila this coming March 26. Hopefully Everything goes well and approved. By anyway as soon our Visa approved we would like to exit and travel to US. Now, we had worried about my husband who is considered overstaying here in the Philippines for almost 3 yrs .How we had to deal with this? and what is the best way to save money to pay for this overstaying that worth 3 yrs? As we heared that lots of humor that Bureau of Imagration charges money for foreigners very expensive and taking advantage.. So is anyone here willing to help us for this concern? helpsmilie.gifhelpsmilie.gifAny resources info much appreciated.

Thanks good.gif

God bless us All

To give you an idea of the appropriate Visa Fees your husband should've paid: http://immigration.gov.ph/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=118&Itemid=43

If memory serves me correct he owes about $1395 for 3 years of extensions plus any late penalties. My guess is maybe you can get some reduced knowing you are leaving. Keep in mind you do not want any reason for immigration to black list him for future visits. The Philippines is becoming more computer technology based so the good old days when one can come and go as they please is ever changing.

Good luck

Woww!!! pretty high.. wish we can reduced him,... how about if we do not afford to pay for it.. so what we gonna do then.. ? does he still allowed to stay more to philippines? or else how should any foreigners pay for those if they cannot afford for that? does the government will give them amnesty? lol.. hope they will...

Anyway i feel so sad if that would be the case to pay very high amount...

Thanks

Contact immigration as soon as possible. The more you delay, the more penalty he incurs.

I would go to the local B I Office. Do not go to the airport, if they think he is trying to leave without paying he will be detained and they know you cannot get into NAIA unless you have already bought a ticket. He will get caught. These are only fees he should have paid in the first place
