So the results from the medical exams are valid for 12 months???

We had our interview on Oct 4th and were told by the Consulate Officer and we were put in Administrative Process and have to wait until that clears out which there is no timeframe and can take 60 to 90 days or more.

Well it's been 5 months and no call or email yet :( once we get a call or email saying it has been completed then bmy husband will go back to consulate to drop off his passport so that they can issue the visa.

And yess CRAZYYY :(

The medical is good for 6 months. I can understand how you feel about AP, my husband had it and it is very sad because no one can tell you when it will end. If you need someone to talk to you can message me. Try to hang in there, hopefully it will end soon. You cab also check the status of his visa here, just enter his case number https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx?eQs=o/iS8zDpeAKjMWCuebHqOw==

Sorry to hear this. Did you petition for K-1 or CR-1??

I petitioned for the CR-1 Spouse Visa.

Hola Chica,

So sorry to hear about how long it is taking. Have they tell you why this happened? does this happen often? what factors make them say this AP about a case?

I am also applying for my Dominican husband, I am having our first baby anytime this month now and we're separated he's in Santiago just waiting, and I am alone in the States. This has been a nightmare, can't believe how inhumane the process is.

Hope your process moves faster and please share any other info you can about why this happened to you guys. This is the first time I read about it for cases in DR.

Saludos,

Eli

Hey Eli,

Unfortunately they don't tell you why you are put in this extra process; they just do it! :( and actually it does happen often. I've been told that it is something very common. It has been happening alot lately in the Dominican.

Congratulations on your first baby and I am so sorry that he isn't there by your side. I can only imagine how that must feel. My husband is in Santo Domingo all alone. I miss him soo much.

Our interview was on Oct 4th over 5 months ago!!! This has been a nightmare I have been soo stressed out and frustrated with this situation I am running out of patience. I feel like I'm going crazyyy!!

Hopefully this process does go faster.. Thanks

Take care

Rosy

I would think him already being your husband that there is something you can do. Call your senator. I would start there.

I was told that there is nothing they can do. That I just have to wait and wait.

Who told you that? You are being deprived of a family member!! You have done everything that the USCIS has requested. Why would you not call your senator!!?? How many times have you visited him in person?

Maybe if you make an appointment and meet with your representative you will get more action. The wait just seems excessive. I think the only other thing you can do is request to expedite on the basis of it being a hardship on you financially. Try to hang in there. Hopefully someone will have better advice.

5 times over a year 2 years????? Again if I were you I would of already been in touch with my senator. I have seen my wife 5 times in 4 months and am leaving again in 3 weeks. We are actually meeting in another country this time. This will be the first time she will be in an airplane. I am trying to visit as many times as I can to leave no doubt in the counselor official mind that this is a bonafide relationship.

5 times in a 15months. I cant go too often thats why when I go I try to stay as long as possible. If I could afford it and I could take the time off from work I would go more often but I just can't :(

Well, you stay way longer than I can. I stay for 5-6 days. I have 2 jobs and money is good but keeps me away from her. Call your senator. Give me your zip code and I will get you their number if you cannot.

listen, as someone who has been through AP I can tell you for a fact that nothing that anyone does can or will get a case out of AP, not a congress person, not a senator, no one. The visa cannot and will not be issued until all of the background checks are done. It is part of the process for some people and you getting the OP upset and telling her to contact people isn't going to help her situation. She can contact her senator to inquire on her husband's behalf, but the senator can;t do anything to end the AP process

sweetie, hang in there. After your husband's case has been in AP for 6 months you can contact your senator and their office can inquire on his behalf. The senator cannot get him out of AP, but as my senator's office told me, at east the embassy will know that someone is following your case. Good luck.
