Processing Time Reliability

Hey guys, I am on the same boat with many of you, waiting every second to hear from California Service Center. I visit VJ many times a day, just to find out any clues, hope and you know… I am wondering, how reliable the “USCIS Processing Time Statistics” in the VJ website. Last week, the statistics said “Processing Dates for common forms” for CSC was October 4; I was pretty excited because my NOA1 date is October 22nd. Yesterday, the Processing Dates in VJ website was changed to August 29 from October 4; it went back a whole month. What’s that supposed to be? Any idea?

Hi,

VJ timeline is based on the average time taken for the approval of I-130/I-129 and it calculates this average after taking into account the timeline of all the applicants whose I-130/I-129 has been processed. It was showing mine to be approved by mid June'13 but it was approved on th 5th of March 2013.

So do not worry. Be patient :)

No, I think the OP is talking about the "petitions are currently being processed with the following filing dates" (or words to that effect) on the Immigration Timelines page, underneath where you click to go to Igor's List.

They represent the oldest case they are working on. Since petitions get sent around to different service centers the dates can change back and forth and really mean nothing IF you are trying to determine when YOURS will be adjudicated. You can't. They are nothing but very broad trends.
