I have friends who encountered the same thing as yours in getting NBI clearance, even though their names were not that common at all. So I guess it couldn't be your phone bill, so relax, I think you'll be fine. About how to get it before the said date, one of my friends paid an amount to a fixer and had her NBI clearance in a day, and the sad thing is that the fixer is an employee at NBI.

Fixer = from the root word "fix" (that employee really fixed it ;) )

Just be careful the "fixer" fix is just expediting the process, and not something else. The embassy does sometimes request the NBI clearance, or an NSO document, directly from those agencies. You best hope they match what you provided them. For the last couple of years, there has been a proliferation of forged and "fixed" documents being submitted to the embassy in Manila, and they are more than aware of it.

You're not the only person in the entire country who has a hit. I have a hit but never had a problem in getting an NBI clearance. I have to wait 10 working days to get it though.

Just relax.

Ok. So I went to NBI Taft this morning. I asked if i can get my clearance sooner than march 14. Thank God there were officers everywhere and they've been really helpful. I was asked for repayment so I paid them again for the clearance. Then I was told that I can get my clearance tomorrow at 11am. I've only been there for like 30mins. It was really fast and I didnt need a fixer to get the clearance. Now I can breath better. thank you very much to all of you for the help. God Bless you all. :innocent:

So this is my problem, this morning I went to get my NBI clearance for my interview which is scheduled on March 25th. I was able to get NBI clearance before with no hits, but today I got a hit and was asked to come back on March 14th. I am worried because I have an unpaid internet bill from SMARTBRO and I received demand letters to settle my bill which amounts to 4,000 pesos only. I stopped receiving those letters on December of last year. I know that it's very unlikely for them to file a case against me since no person can be imprisoned for non-payment of debt. I'm sure of this coz I was a law student for 3 years. However I'm still worried coz that's the only reason I could think about for why I would get a hit. Plus, if there was really a case pending against me, I should have received a subpoena or a warrant of arrest for that matter but I receive none of that. So I really doubt it. It could be just a case of having a person with the same name as I do. I'm so worried that I wont be able to get my clearance on time for my interview. So I was wondering if there is any way that I could get NBI to speed up the verification process. Is there? i really want this done before March 14 just in case something else goes wrong then I have time to fix it. Please help. :/

Question though, where are you trying to get your NBI Clearance? In Robinsons Malls?

that's what i meant with "fix" - fixing the long wait to a shorter time :star:

Question though, where are you trying to get your NBI Clearance? In Robinsons Malls?

Nope. first time I went to Ever Gotesco Recto, then they ask me to wait for 2 weeks. However I found out that if you go to NBI taft instead they only make you wait a week. In my case I just repaid the fee and I got my clearance the next day. The process at NBI taft is really faster than what I've expected and everybody was so helpful. :)

Thanks for detailed reply. Because I was about to suggest NBI Caloocan which is the fastest and the most advanced branch (according to them lol) in the Philippines. I've been getting my NBI Clearance there every year and was able to get them on the same day. However, it's for Employment only not sure for travel abroad. But I think you can try, I have a feeling you will get it the same day
