Hello VJ members :D

I applied for my husband IR-1/Cr-1 visa and he had his interview n oct 04, 2012 in London. interview went well CO said she has all the documents and congrats him but end of his interview she gave him blue paper and said application requires additional processing. He has no criminal background but he has common Muslim name so we thought mayb thats why they need additional processing. but end of th December embassy asked for his passport so he submitted his passport on jan 03, 2013. its been more than 7 weeks and we are still waiting. he emailed the embassy and they said "On receipt of your passport in the immigrant visa unit it was determined that your application would require further additional administrative processing"

so is that a bad news? how long do we have to wait? if they were not done with additional processing then why they asked for his passport??

another ques. his medical going to expire n March 05, 2013. so if he has to go for another medical exam do u think his visa processing will take more times?? he emailed th London embassy again but got no response. also his uk visa going to run out soon :( we r so confused dont know what to do.. i called DOS so many times. got same ans. "have to wait".. its soo frustrating :( its been more than 5 months since his interview :( :'( how long do we have to wait?? :(

any of u guys going through th similar problem? plz share and give us some advice :crying:

There is no way to know how long AP will last, it will take as long as it takes.

It can be a few weeks to a few months, and (in rare cases) can take over a year.

"On receipt of your passport in the immigrant visa unit it was determined that your application would require further additional administrative processing"

This to me implies they found something they needed to look into after reviewing his passport. It is a possibility they noticed his visa was expiring and maybe it raised some questions, or is it possible his passport expires soon? Maybe the passport had something conflicting in it from the paperwork. I guess the bottom line is you will just have to unfortunately wait until the AP is done.

I wonder if you made a trip to Bangladesh or another country between your interview and sending your passport? Perhaps that triggered another check if they saw other visits.

How will you leave without your passport? You will have to ask for it's return. Your entire case may have to be transferred to Dhaka embassy if you have to leave the United Kingdom. Then you would get the visa there when your AP is concluded.

Thank you MedRoni for your reply :D

his passport is not going to expire soon.

on his passport doesn't show any information about UK visa validity.

my husband has two passports because he just got a new passport with new number & behind the old passport Bangladesh embassy made a note that old passport is not valid any more unless it has any valid visa but our case was applied by his old passport so he submitted both of them. so now i m thinking maybe we did mistake on that?? :(

no he didn't make any trip to another country during that time.

but back on 2009 he went to France, Italy and Switzerland for holiday and after that he went to Bangladesh for vacation.

that's all he has travel history on his passport.

ya he needs his passport back in order to travel and when i called DOS abt transferred information to Dhaka embassy they said they will transfer there.. but my question is how that will effect on his AP processing? is it going to take more time to finish his AP than? we really don't want his passport back from the embassy specially now but he also cant over stay in London. its soo confusing :'(
