Hi,

I am collecting all the requirements for the I130 and filing all the documents.

On the I130 application and the G325, Do we put my wifes (beneficiary) maiden name or her married name?

All her supporting documents, such as birth certificate, passport, etc, are in her maiden name. Thank you.

Hi,

On the I130 application and the G325, Do we put my wifes (beneficiary) maiden name or her married name? You can hyphenate maiden-married name.

All her supporting documents, such as birth certificate, passport, etc, are in her maiden name. Thank you. Yes you can still use them, birth certificate will never have to be change but her passport will eventually need to be change to reflect married name.

Thank you for the quick response. On the Marriage Contract her Married name is not hypened but my Last name and her first name. So do i just put in her married name?

Another question, when do we change the passport? At what stage? Thank you very much.

If your married, just use her married name. The passport can be changed any time. Go to the DFA website for the requirements needed, it takes a minimum of 15 days to get it renewed so the sooner the better. At the interview just bring both passports, the same when going for the CFO

The I-130 is a petition, not an application. Use the name that she intends to use going forward and then get her a new passport with that name sometime before the petition is approved. A copy will be needed at the NVC stage and the visa will then be issued in that passport name.

Will NVC go by the name that's on the forms for issuing the green card or just the passport? My wife just changed her passport to have her maiden name with my last name in parenthesis. But on all the forms we are submitting to USCIS and NVC we are putting her married name. Do you recommend her passport just be in her married name?

Yes, but the way you have it will also probably work.
