I've been waiting for 160 days and i know others have been around longer but i just wanted to know how to contact my congressman. CSC seems like they don't pull your case until someone pushes them. there were few approval in december , january and february.... thats not fair to us. If they are running behind it should be for evebody inclucling the childhood program they recently started. People from the government have never worked seriously... just going to a job & family office you can tell...they are tsking their time on everything and it doesnt seem like they have to meet numbers monthly or even getting audited in a monthly basis.. I know most people on this site feel like their life is placed on hold... SAHS ALL MY PRAYERS FOR YOU... I KNOW YOU'VE BEEN WAITING FOREVER BUT IT WILL COME SOON....please advise :((

thank you

Find your Representative http://www.house.gov...entatives/find/

Find your Senator http://www.senate.go...enators_cfm.cfm

Once you find your representative or senator, go to their website. They should have a link under their contact info with something like "dealing with a federal or government agency." This will usually give you a form to fill out stating your information and your current issue. There is also a release form, so they can contact USCIS on your behalf. The release form may be emailed to you in a response or printed as soon as you contact them. From what I've seen this must be signed and then faxed or mailed back to them.

You can also call them and ask to speak to their immigration liaison. This is the person who will actually do the work anyways.

So far I have contacted both my State Senators with general emails about the immigration process and that was not very sucessful. I'm currently waiting to hear back from my Congressman. This was a more specific letter about my case and requesting a service request.

If it's only been 160 days I would wait before contacting a senator.

I would contact them when YOU feel it's necessary, there is no magic number of days. Of course you need to be realistic with what help they can provide knowing the current state of the USCIS.

Don't let the fact that you are within "normal processing times" stop you from taking action. Normal processing time is now a BS date of July 18th and is probably going to stay there for awhile. So, you will never exceed it.

Just to follow this up. I recieved a call from my congressman's office today. They said they will not try to do a service request until 5 1/2 weeks past 5 months. So, I got a couple more weeks of waiting for them to do something, but I'm glad I contacted them before that, so they will do it as soon as possible.

Also it only took them a few days to respond after I sent in the forms.

There is unfortunately a timeframe, they generally won't entertain expedite requests if you're still within the CSC published processing times.

Calling politicians to get your case moving is very far fetched. You think these congressmen banging their high priced escorts in hotel rooms and attending fancy luncheons give a rats tail about someone waiting 6-8 months for their fiancé? Probably not. I hate to break the mood but sometimes the reality has got to be told. Just sit back and roll one up til you hear back. That's all you can do really. Best of luck to everyone. You are all in my prayers to see your loved ones soon!
