Hi guys,

Has any LPRs here applied for an SSN? I believe if you are over the age of 12, you need to go to the office directly.

Do you know if:

1) Do you need an appointment?

2) How long does it take?

3) Do you get a number immediately?

1, Just go in and take a number/sign in.

2. It takes as long as it takes really, depends how many people are there waiting.

3. You get your card and number in the mail you are not told immediately.

Your I-129f was approved in 5 days from your NOA1 date.

Your interview took 67 days from your I-129F NOA1 date.

AOS was approved in 2 months and 8 days without interview.

ROC was approved in 3 months and 2 days without interview.

Thanks for the information.

2. So this is a one time visit right? Not like an AOS with lots of back and forth?

3. Any idea about the time it takes to mail in days? I need the SSN for taxes(so I can file married joint rather than single) so before April 15th is a must. I plan on going this week to apply for my SSN.

2. it should be one time visit unless they mess up!

3. I have seen people get them in 2-3 weeks sometimes 4 weeks.
