Hey there,

I have already filed for my K1 visa and asked them to send the visa application to the US embassy in London where I am from. But I have been offered a job in Tanzania for 6 months and want to know if I can change the US embassy to the one in Dar Es Salaam so I won't have to fly back for the interview?

Thanks!

yes, as long as you are legally resident in Tanzania (work visa, not just tourist), you can interview there.

You may call USCIS. We did that before we filled though because I got a job offered in Germany.

I am actually in the same situation. I am currently on a working visa in Canada and I will apply for my new work permit soon. I am pretty sure I will get a new one. But just in case if I don't and will have to go back home can I be interviewed in my country even though in 129F I have Montreal embassy?
Thanks

Awesome. Do you know how I would do it?

once you get your NOA2 email the NVC with all the relevant details- as outlined on their site.

if NVC still assigns a London case#- as it did in my case!- contact the embassy in Tanzania and fill n a case transfer request

lots of bureaucratic fun!
