I'm approaching 56 years old and I've been an aerospace engineer for nearly 33 years now, some of those years spent deployed as an engineer and consultant to the U.S. Navy, Air Force and Army to various parts of the world, including as of late the middle east.

I also remember the day dems.and repubs stood on the steps and sang god bless america (I think that was the song) The dems. stood by the president and voted for it! (but inside they hated it) but it was the popular thing to do. Little by little the dems. and the press begin to start critisizing Bush (which is fine, I beleive he made some mistakes too) It is so easy to sit in your easy chair after the fact and BASH away. (remember dems.still pissed off about election of 2000) On the news every night, EVEN FOX ! 5 americans dead ,10 dead, IED, car bomber this and suicide bomber that! OVER AND OVER,night after night after night! The emphasis always on our dead and wounded, ALWAYS! The battle in faluja was very sucessful! but again, from the press just the body count! (meanwhile dems. BASH,BASH,BASH) Where was the emphasis on the the killer of our guys? NEVER happened! did we get the guy? he!! who knows to busy counting our guys. Abu graib? do we know the backgroud of these POOR Iraqi prisoners that got mistreated "** NO" not a word about who they were, why they were there, what they did! But we sure knew who those FCUKIN americans were did'nt we (again the fine job of the press) I certainly don't know what the best thing is for the Iraqi people. What I do know is that they certainly deserve a little of the blame if not alot of it. They need to start snitchin on these azzholes doing the killing and taking control of their destiny. The dems. and the press now have what they wanted. Lets continue to sit in our easy chairs and make judgments based on what we hear and read in the press! I agree it's a mess, what WAR isnt! Let's say most Americans make judgements on what they hear in the press, which is largely owned by conservative corporations, who DO make a difference on what story goes where, no matter what you, or anyone else woh knows nothing about the workings of the media, hear. Marc, I have to take my grandma out to Saturday lunch at the moment, but I would be happy to explain the newspaper ownership situation to you later. If you choose to google it or something though, you'll find companies like Knight-Ridder and other large news corporations are managed by very conservative Republicans. I have worked for them.
