Help! Upcoming trip and possible Oath!

Hi!

I have my citizenship interview on February 21st and I have a business trip right after and I should return home on March 10th.

God willing everything goes well do you know how far is the Oath Ceremony after the interview?

My office is Hotsville, Long Island!

Please help, I need to confirm with my office the return dates and I don't want to miss the Oath! How bad is to reschedule the Oath?

Walk with your travel documents or even travel dates and just ask to be scheduled for the oath outside of that period. If you are traveling within the US then you can do the oath even the day before you travel.

But if you are traveling internationally, once you take the oath you'll need a US passport to reenter the country. Lots of people ask to be scheduled after planned travel if their travel period is close to the interview date because they don't want to risk not getting a passport in time to make the flight.

Jul 5 - Receipt date for I-130 petition for my over 21 brother and his wife (both in the UK)

2024

Feb 23 - Sent USCIS a message asking for a processing update

May 6 - Received an email response saying things were progressing normally but that waiting times might be longer

THE SAGA CONTINUES - IR-5 Story
I-130 for Parents - 2013
Aug ?? - mailed I-130 packages for both mother and father
Sept 10 - NOA1 date
Sept 16 - NOA1s received

2014

Feb 25, 26 & 28 - got emails saying that the cases had been transferred to another office, then to my local office, and then just transferred and are being processed

Mar 17 - got email, attached to one case number only, saying that my A number was changed relating to the I-130 filing

Mar 20 - N-400 receipt date for my father
2021
Apr 21 - Biometrics appt.

2022
May 2 - Interview

May 20 - Naturalization ceremony

They can be quite flexible with oath ceremony dates. Just tell them at the interview that you need to be travelling for work until March10 and wish to have your oath ceremony scheduled for after that date. They will work with you. Good luck:-)
