So since my husbands visa case has been sent back to USCIS after his interview and AP, I sent in a FOIA request for the consular notes on his case. I just received the CD today with the consular notes. In the cover letter it reads 'We have completed our search for records that are responsive to your request. The record consists of 9 pages of material. We have released 1 page in full. We have referred 8 pages in their entirety to the U. S. Dept of State for their direct response to you. The enclosed record consists of the best reproducible copy available.' So I print out 9 pages, 8 of them are blank so I d k why they even added them, and the one 'full page' says in big bold letters "LAST PAGE" What the heck kind of joke is this???? why did they even send me anything?

I submitted an FOIA request with the DEPT of State also so hopefully they will give me the info but jeez....

Has anyone else had this problem?

We have referred 8 pages in their entirety to the U. S. Dept of State for their direct response to you.

I know what this means, but do you ? No, I'm not being snarky...

Your FOIA was filed with USCIS/DHS. To get consular notes, one should have been filed with DoS.

USCIS is being nice, since DoS doesn't allow USCIS to release anything with a DoS stamp on it -

your FOIA request was forwarded to DoS by USCIS.

Now you have some new calendar - awaiting on DoS to do something.

Good Luck !
