What most likely will happen as we went through the same thing her sputum and culture were both negative but due to the scar on her x-ray and they can't explain it they will require when she gets to USA to do another TB check it will be noted on her medical file this is what happened to us so now I have to get her into a doctor here and confirm again that she doesn't have TB We got this information as soon as we entered POE and they gave me a copy of her medical file. A 3 day culture always results in a 2 month sputum test so don't worry too much a lot have to go through it and don't be surprised if you have to do it again in the USA you may get lucky and not have to but we weren't, but at least she is here now I just have to get her on my insurance :)

No TB PCR?

hi!

First of all you need to cancel your schedule for visa interview.

After the the sputum collection, your fiancee will go back to st. lukes for pulmonary evaluation. The doctor will tell her if the sputum smear is negative or positive. If it is positive, she will need to start the 6 months treatment. She needs to go to st.lukes everyday to take her medication. She will also undergo x-ray and sputum exam from time to time (i think). Now if she is negative on sputum smear, the slec will need to culture her sputum. She will wait for 2 months for the result. After 2 months, and the culture came out negative, she will receive her vaccines and her passport will be stamped as cleared by st. lukes. Then she can proceed to visa interview.

St. lukes will schedule her for visa interview, or she can do it herself.

Did I read that right??? If it's positive, have to go to St. Lukes every day for 6 months??? That's ridiculous. It's a 2 hour drive for my wife. I can't imagine how people living on different islands would do this.

You don't have to go to St. Lukes on the weekends. Instead, you take the meds at home on Saturday and Sunday.

People who live far from St. Lukes move close St. Lukes.

My girl is from Zamboanga. I don't know what to tell you about the process as we will not file K1 till April. What I can do for you is give you my prayers everyday and I promise I will. Nothing is stronger than prayer so I hope you accept my gift.

God bless.

Brad

i don't know if it goes the same way to everyone but when i went to st.lukes last monday, i talked to 5 people who got positive results. They told me the nurse told them that they need to go to st. lukes everyday for the treatment. One couple, age 50-60 (i think) said they will just go home and have their treatment their. St lukes then told them that if they do the treatment process on their province, it will take them 8 months - 1 year before st. lukes declare them as clear.

One lady was taking the med for one month now, said that she goes to st. lukes everyday for her treatment. But the nurses let them take the meds during weekends, since the clinic is close.

this is just FYI :)
