Translation of things

One source said that I can't translate for my wife's AOS. Those of you with successful AOS applications-that is with green cards, can I translate? In my work I have passed a test so that I can work in English or in Spanish and they certified my Spanish level as close to native- I could include this as a support document. So my question is, can I do all the translations involved with my wife's AOS? Thanks again and again!

unfortunately no

They do this so you dont tell her what to answer in the foreign language...They will take friends (but not relatives) or you can hire a translator like we did but the cost in outrageous we paid $300 and our interview lasted 10 minutes! And we didnt even need her- my hubby didnt know what espionage meant in our first interview--the first question the officer asked "are you here to commit espionage"....my hubby speaks GREAT english but that was a word we never used or talked about haahahaha so he stopped our interview (yes after one question...grr...he couldnt rephrase it..nooooo lol) and we had to wait a month and a half for the next one hhahaha.

It seems you are talking about the interview. I'm asking about me translating the forms and her birth certificate to send in. Translator or no, I'm her husband- I could easily tell her how to fill out the forms. But good to know about the interview; we're in the same city as you! Though she is studying English a lot, I doubt she'll be fluent by then.

Ahh got you hahaha...Yeah you can help her with the application but you should get the documents translated professionaly...

I reccomend Bridge Learning Center (they are on Colorado Blv and Mississippi), we had all of my husbands documents translated there (and that's where we hired our translator from as well lol) and their pricing is not bad. 3 pages for $100 some dollars and it is official as well as notarized!! They have a great track record with our local USCIS office.

Anyone fluent in both languages can do the translations. No need for a professional. My husband translated his own birth certificate and we were approved without any problems.
