Good day everyone..

I am new here, just got engaged yesterday while in the Philippines. I have a question about the K-1 fiance visa.

I would like to know if i can begin the process of applying for this visa, then when my fiance obtains this visa,

if i can return to the Philippines and get married, and have her return with me. OR, "Must" she get married with me

in the USA, since she is traveling to the US on the K-1 visa. She has a strong desire to be married in her homeland,

and i have a difficult time obtaining time off from work which is why i am thinking about doing thing this way,

which would allow us to be together in the USA in a shorter time period, as opposed to me waiting till next year when

i receive more vacation time.

Thankyou in advance,

William

A K-1 visa requires you to get married in the United States.

If a K-1 visa holder marries outside the United States then the visa is voided since it is for unmarried people only. You would need to pursue a CR-1 visa in this instance.

if your not married yet you need to file 1-129f for k-1 visa fiancee,it could take around 7 months, then when you arrive in the united states you must get married within 90 days, and you can't leave the united states, if you do you won't be allowed back in the u.s you will need to adjustment of status,1-485- 1-765-1-131.you need to file all the forms first so that you can get the green card and social security card to work, and travel international.then another thing is get married there file 1-130 cr-1 visa, it may take about 7 to 12 months but when you arrive in the u.s you will get the green card an social security card to work this way is less money-the 1-129f is more money because of all the forms for AOS,FEE'S good luck what ever you decide.
