Hi everyone

After my fiance and I submitted another i134 from a legitimate co-sponsor we were told we had to submit the i864 instead...which I thought was crazy because no one notified us and I wouldn't have found out if I hadn't called the DOS visa line multiple times. Anyway, has anyone had experience with the i864?

The I864 is an enforceable document locking your co-sponsor into support until working 40 quarters.

The I-864 is used by some consulates for co-sponsors to make sure they are serious, as it is a legally binding document.

Me: Irish/ Swiss citizen, and now naturalised US citizen. Husband: USC; twin babies born Feb 08 in Ireland and a daughter in Feb 2010 in Arkansas who are all joint Irish/ USC. Did DCF (IR1) in 6 weeks via the Dublin, Ireland embassy and now living in Arkansas.
