Need an advice on what's next after mom's petition approved..

I filed I-130 for my mom last Nov. 28, 2012 and it was approved January 10, 2013. Thanks God!

Also thankful to VJ's family for being there to help/ advice in this process.

This time, I wanna ask any advice on paper works does my mom has to prepare. And any idea what to do next...

01/10/12 - Approved from USCIS online (after 42 days)

01/23/13 - NVC received case

02/05/13 - got NVC and IIN numbers

02/06/13 - DS3032 email sent

02/08/13 - AOS bill paid

02/09/13 - AOS packet sent

02/21/13 - DS3032 accepted

03/04/13 - IV bill paid

03/04/13 - IV packet sent

03/07/13 - case completed

04/02/13 - interview - approved!

Timeline

while waiting on NVC to receive file and assign numbers you shd start getting ready her birth cert, marriage/divorce/death cert( as applicable) police cert. get her to sign 2 Ds 230 forms if she lives far in case there are errors in one.

go and study the guides on this site for guidance as you progress.

USCIS stage ( 66 days)
10/12/2012: NOA 1
12/17/2012: NOA 2 (case was transferred to NYC office 11/27/12)
NVC stage ( 20 days)
01/08/2013: Case # and IIN assigned ( file arrived NVC mail room 12/20/12)
01/09/2013: AOS invoiced and paid, DS-3032 emailed and mailed.
01/16/2013: IV invoiced &paid. AOS & IV mailed in one package(arrived 01/18).

01/28/2013: Case complete!!!
04/19/2013: Interview; APPROVED!!!!!
05/13/2013: POE; JFK

Case entered and # assigned: 2011-11-18
NVC Case COMPLETED: 2011-12-07 ( 43 days from NOA 2 and 65 days from NOA 1)
Interview Date(Lagos): 2012-01- 23
Mom was late for interview
New Interview date: 2012-02-29 : VISA APPROVED

I would like to share the timeline of one of the vj member here. And she's also from the Philippines: HTH!

I-130 for Parents Journey:

February 06, 2012 - mailed the petitions for my parents

*** after 17 days

Febuary 23, 2012 - the petitions has been received by USCIS

*** after 1 day

February 24, 2012 - the checks that were issued $420(each) has been cleared in our checking account

*** after 115 days (almost 4 months)

June 18, 2012 - petitions were approved and that it has been forwarded to National Visa Center for visa processing

*** after 37 days

July 25, 2012 - received an email from NVC Inquiry (NVCInquiry@state.gov): addressed to parents (applicants)

- that the petition is now eligible for visa processing (both parents)

- email assigned a case number: MNL****** (diff case number for each parent)

- Form DS-3032 - Choice of Address and Agent needs to be filled out and mailed

*** same day

July 25, 2012 - received an email from NVC:

- need to pay Affidavit of Support(AOS) processing fee

- with AOS processing fee invoice that contains the invoice number - $88(both parents)

- copy of Form DS-3032 - Choice of Address & Agent - for petitioner's reference

*** after 6 days

July 31, 2012 - emailed DS-3032 to parents for them to print then fill out - assigning me(petitioner) as their agent.

This was done because I found out that in some countries, it could take as long as 1-2 months before the actual mail containing the DS-3032 from National Visa Center to arrive in the applicants(parents) address.

*** after 2 days

August 02, 2012 - parents mailed the already filled out DS-3230 for each of them to:

National Visa Center

Attention ACL

31 Rochester Ave., Suite 200

Portsmouth, NH 03801

*** same day

August 02, 2012 - I paid the $88 AOS processing fee online (for both parents) and was able to generate a cover sheet with barcode for each of my parents

*** after 6 days

August 08, 2012 - I finally was able to complete I-864 and I-864A for each of them with the following supporting documents:

- I-864 Coversheet (with barcode)

- Form I-864 (Signed and dated)

- Letter of Employment of the sponsor(petitioner-ME)

- Pay stubs from the most recent six months of the sponsor

- I-864A from the spouse(household member)

- Letter of Employment of the spouse(household member)

- Pay stubs from the most recent six months of the spouse(household member)

- 2011 Tax Transcript of sponsor and household member (joint)

- 2010 Tax Transcript of sponsor and household member (joint)

- 2009 Tax Transcript of sponsor and household member (joint)

Note: Separate copies attached to each of the I-864 and I-864A for each parent

*** after 1 day

August 09, 2012 - mailed the document through express mail (overnight delivery)to:

National Visa Center

Attn: CMR AOS

31 Rochester Avenue Suite 100

Portsmouth, NH 03801-2914

September 06, 2012 - received an email from NVC informing me that they have received the DS-3032(Choice of Agent & Address)

September 06, 2012 - received an email from NVC with the Immigrant Visa Application Processing Fee Bill Invoice - one invoice for each parent.

NVC is requesting me to pay for the Visa Fee, $230 EACH PARENT

yay!! one more step closer!!

September 07, 2012 - paid the visa application fee online at $230 each for my parents today!!

Then i asked my parents to let them send me the civil documents and a signed ds-230 for each of them...

list of civil documents:

1)original birth certificate-NSO issued for each of my parents

2)original marriage certificate-NSO issued (2 originals)

3)copy of passport biographic page - that has name, dob & place of birth for each of my parents

4)two passport photos - 2x2 colored for each of my parents

5)original police clearance/certificate

6)NBI clearance

***after 17 days

September 24, 2012 - received from the Philippines all the civil documents and the filled out and signed ds-230's by my parents. I am now in the process of collecting and reviewing everything before sending it to the National Visa Center.

***after 2 days

September 26, 2012 - emailed the DS-230 packet to NVC for both of my parents through express mail, USPS

***after 16 days

October 12, 2012 - received an email from NVC with my parent's interview scheduled on November 8, 2012

***after 13 days

October 29 & 30, 2012 - my parents went to SLEC for their medical

***after 9 days

November 8, 2012 - interview schedule for my parents, yay!! my parents got approved!!!

***after 6 days

November 14, 2012 - visa received!!

NVC Filers - January 2013

It is primarily for spouse IR-1 and CR-1s, but as far as I can tell, the NVC processes are nearly identical (might be some different documents require for the DS-230...)

[i am the USC and the wife/stepmother]
The prelude - 2007
November 22 - Married in Bulgaria.
CR-1 - 2008
January 7 I-130 sent - APPROVED in 106 days.
Interview - APPROVED 175 days from NOA-1 date
ROC - 2010-2011
October 5 - I-751 sent APPROVED 111 days from NOA-1 date, no interview.
NATURALIZATION - 2012
APPROVED 79 days.
May 9 - Oath ceremony - in Oakland, CA.

*************Didn't have enough of the immigration process yet!! Starting again with 16-year-old (step)son****************
IR-2 - 2012-2013

Nov 15 - I-130 sent. NOA-1 received from MSC.
Jan 22 - APPROVED 65 days from NOA-1. Never transferred to field office.

Feb 4 - received @ NVC
Feb 26 - Got NVC Case # and Invoice ID #
----------------------------------slowing down the process a little... stepson can't come till nearly July-----------------------------
March 19 - Sent e-mail Choice of Agent, without scan of DS-3032. Paid AOS fee ($88).
April 1 - Choice of Agent information accepted (10th "working day" to accept).
April 3 - IV invoice appeared. Paid IV fee ($230).
April 11 - Sent IV package and AOS package TOGETHER. Confirmed delivery April 15.

April 26 - Case Complete (10th working day)

May 14 - Interview date assigned (12th working day)

June 5 - Interview in Sofia - VISA GRANTED!!!

June 16 - POE @ SFO. No problems. He's a citizen now!

Oct 4 - US Passport received. (SS card received some time in the summer; had to go to SSA office to obtain)

Aug 5, 2013 - Arrived at NVC Building

Aug 13, 2013 - Got the NVC case # via PHONE

Aug 14, 2013 - Got the Invoice # via PHONE

Aug 15, 2013 - Send my DS-3032 via Email

Aug 16, 2013 - AOS Pay

Aug 17, 2013 - Got an email to print the COVER SHEET

Aug 21, 2013 - send the AOS overnight at NVC

Aug 28, 2013 - Accept the DS-3032

Aug 30, 2013 - IV BILL pay and Documents Sent to NVC receive the checklist AOS.

September 19, 2013 Sent back the checklist

September 20, 2013 Sept 26, arrived @ NVC

Sept 30,2013 - already encode to their system
