We had a kid starting in our office a couple of years back in an entry level position. The kid rolled into work in his $80K Benz, wore an outfit never below $5K, manicured and all. He didn't need to work - least of all in a place like our office. He didn't make working in a month what his rich parents gave him for an allowance in a week. And yet, that guy was one of the hardest working people I have ever met in my life. Polite, well mannered and extremely respectful with everyone he spoke to. He could have just done whatever but he chose not to and rather got himself to do an honest day's work. He was raised well. Same seems to go for Chelsea Clinton. She doesn't exactly come across as some spoiled brat like other rich parents kids.

From the accounts one hears and reads from immigrants of all eras, it seems that is very much a part of the American dream - making sure one's kids were afforded better everything in the new country. In droves, they came to America.
