Human rights issue?

They can start their own organization instead of forcing their distorted values onto a private organization.

i don't think you understand what is happening here. no values were forced upon anyone. he wasn't a scout attempting to persuade other scouts to become gay..

The BSA does not want homosexuals in it's organization. It wants nothing to do with the homosexual agenda. The BSA is a private organization. It's pretty basic.

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

and that is why i have never encouraged my son to get involved with cub scouts. i understand its a private organization and they can make up their own rules. but if they want to maintain membership in the future, they might want to start stepping out of the stone age. this will end one of two ways, bsa changes with the times or they'll end trying to hold on to the past.

They're quite like the Republican party that way... denying and refusing to change with the times. Their views are outdated.

What does the words private organization mean to you? Take your time and think about that.

What do the words free speech mean to you? That is all these people are doing, using their right of free speech. Nobody is being forced to do anything!

Isn't freedom of choice a great thing? Nobody held a gun to you or your sons head and forced them to join. Choice...the choice for one to make his or her's own decisions.

The 1st amendment is only for their views. It doesn't apply to everyone.

is the california bsa group holding a gun to the bsa's head and forcing them to take back their ban? no. of course not. a group WITHIN the bsa are attempting to fix an obvious error in thinking within their leadership.
