I would grieve the rest of my life and be heartbroken. But not blame the homeowner one bit

And if the homeowner decided not to shoot him if your son attacked him would you tell the homeowner he had no balls and should have shot him? Or would you be happy that your son had a chance to live and learn from his mistake? I'd bet on the latter.

Yes I would be happy he is alive. I would still not blame the homeowner if he had. Absuard analogy. If you are amred and someone draws a weapon on you in a parking lot, and you don't use it, in my opinion you made a mistake. it couldjust as easily have been a real gun. That pellet could have gone in his eye and lodged in the brain very easily.

Yah for him, it worked out and he feel's good, God bless him. He still made a stupid decision.

The story you quoted varies vastly from what I pictured.

You may think I'm talking about an 18/19 yr old or your 20+ adult son. I have a 13-15 yr in mind. Now your barely there teenager breaks into your neighbour's home and said neighbour filled your son with 7 bullets after your son pleads for his life, his face was clearly seen and he says 'call the cops and my father but please don't kill me'. Yet hey he died any way. I refuse to believe you would just 'grieve' the first time you get all that information.

Anyway that didn't happen but your child/a relative could have been one of the bystanders who died because somebody just started firing a gun in hopes of 'getting the guy'.

He is a good guy and I was joking with him, but he presents a very complex argument, that would have to be debated with a lots of research, and even then he has a solid argument.Plus it was about time for the SEC to prove to the world why it is the most dominant conference ever, and why the real NC was decided on Dec 1.

I prefer the "Lakes are not man made, no one has ever crashed into a crowd on purpose, and putting more drunk drivers on the road is like gun control crowd." Lot less work

I knew you were, I stopped replying because I had to get dinner ready for my wife. I honestly wish we could get rid of hate crimes, because then we would be treated as equals. One can only pray :innocent:

Your changing the scenario-- If the neighbor sees him, recognizes him, the child assumes a submissive posture and is no longer a threat and he still pops him. Then that neighbor is going to jail. Every scenario is diffrent,

The scenario was the guy drew a gun on the on him and was firing. That is an active threat. he should have shot him.

Now if he had drawn the gun, the surrender and begged for his life and was shot that is different. We are talking active threats you are comparing apples to oranges.

So always shoot first, ask questions later? Gotcha.

Yup. That is how teenagers get shot dead for exercising their right to hear music loudly in a public place.

Or walking home from the store with a hoodie on with a bag of skittles and some Ice tea.

Yes if someone is pointing a weapon at you and firing projectiles into your head, I think it's past the point of, I wonder what his intent is.

If those teenagers had been pointing a weapon at him, your darn right.

Honestly I would have drawn my weapon if someone was firing pellets at my face, if I carried. B

It's been a month and still no shotgun...

There's only one person who claims that "he thought he saw" a gun. And that is the man who has fled the scene, fled from police the following day and the man that is held w/o bail and has now been charged with one count of first degree murder and three counts of attempted murder. No gun was actually in the car where this blowhard "thought he saw" one. He killed a teenager in cold blood because that teenager and his friends exercised their protected right to listen to music loudly. Andf he will spend the rest of his sorry life behind bars where he belongs.
