Question about MNL #

Hi Everyone: I think I am just impatient but here goes my questiions:

How long does it take to get the MNL # so I can pay for medical and get this other end started?

Should I call them for the #? We were approved Dec 31st. I know less than a week but I want this ball rolling accross the pond to Manila. Or is it ball floating lol.

My fiancee's work contract expired just Jan 3rd so now her idle time is driving me crazy with questions as she now has too much time on her hands. I need to get her next hobby on her side moving?

Soo is there a number I can call to see what my # is as nothing came in the mail yet? I read many posts that even 10 days after approval is too soon to get our number to schedule interview and medical.

We got our MNL case number 2 weeks after the approval. You can start calling NVC next week. Good luck!

A little too soon to expect your MNL #. Here is the phone number for NVC, also NVC was very good with answering my email, I got a reply within 24 hrs with the MNL#

Give them 7 - 10 days before calling. Call after 4:45 PM eastern time for shorter wait times K1's are not tracked through the AVR, ever. They are processed like an immigrant visa, but they are NOT immigrant visas, so they fall into a completely different class of their own. Therefore you need an operator. To get there:

Press 1 for English

Press 5 for an operator

Call everyday next week if you must until you get the MNL case number. If they say call after 15 days after they receive your case, don't listen call anyways

You can pay your nonimmigrant visa application fee with cash or debit card at any Bank of Philippine Islands. Before going to the bank, you must print the applicable U.S. visa application deposit slip available below on this page. Take the printed deposit slip with you to pay your fee. If you print a deposit slip in advance of the day in which you plan to make your payment, please take note of the expiration date on the deposit slip. For K-1 the fee is $240

Receipt Format

When scheduling online with the embassy you need to use the receipt number as shown on the payment receipt from BPI.

Priorty Date; this is the date the NOA 1 was accepted.

Make sure to print two copies of the interview confirmation page as you will need one for St. Luke's and the other (maybe, they might mail the interview letter) for the embassy.

Required documents & "OTHER DOCUMENTS" they ask for at CFO: copies of; CENOMAR, certified birth certificate, bio page of passport, visa page from passport, pictures together. From USC (copies of) - bio page of passport, birth certificate, divorce decree (if been married before) are the most common requests. The "other documents" clause can be ANYTHING with those nit-wits at CFO.

** From the Family Code of the Philippines: it's 21-25 years old for advice and 18-21 years old for consent. (Some are posted on VJ that they were not asked for this, yet others have been asked, so be prepared)

Art. 14. In case either or both of the contracting parties, not having been emancipated by a previous marriage, are between the ages of eighteen and twenty-one, they shall, in addition to the requirements of the preceding articles, exhibit to the local civil registrar, the consent to their marriage of their father, mother, surviving parent or guardian, or persons having legal charge of them, in the order mentioned. Have you gotten your MNL # yet? Can't do much of anything until you have that (you can do CFO)

Once we had the MNL # we scheduled the interview about a month out, that gave plenty of time to gather everything, complete the medical early enough so it was delivered to the embassy and for NVC to forward the petition packet to the embassy.

It took NVC 3 weeks to complete our case (your case could stay there for a day or up to 60 days) then 1 week for USEM to receive it.

Right now the plan is for her to go to Manila soon for the CFO & med exam and schedule the interview somewhere around 12 Feb. Then if all goes well she'll join me on my return flight on 2 Mar.

They received it on Weds (16th) and I got the MNL#. They (NVC) said they would send me an email when it was forwarded to the Manila embassy....are they good about doing that or should I start calling them so I know when it's sent?
