On October 27th I recived an email that my I-129F case was approved and the NOA2 has been mailed. Today is 11/6/06 and I still haven't recieved the letter in mail.

Is there any importance in having the letter in hand?

How do you know when the case has been forwarded to NVC?

Thanks for your help.

I think you need to show the letter at the interview.

NVC should send you a letter when they are done processing your case. Most cases seem to spend only a couple days at NVC and then they are shipped off to the embassy.

Good luck!

Your approval notice will only be required when filing for Adjustment of Status, after your marriage takes place. You won't need it at the interview in the foreign consulate. If it doesn't arrive at all you should contact USCIS so they can send you a new one.

The CSC is pretty slow about sending out the notices. Try printing out the notice from their web site if you need a permanent copy.

How can you print it?

I just called the NVC my file number was not there.

Is there a way to print the notice from USCIS site as suggested?

You can print out the approval email but what's the point? You don't need it for anything until AOS in the US. Your hard copy NOA2 will come - give it some time.
