My lawyer said that I needed a Co sponsor soy did and now she's telling me that I need to work instead and I can't have a Co sponsor any more why????????

She's probably telling you that because co-sponsors may or may not be accepted by your embassy. Some embassies allow co-sponsors, some do not, and very few (like London) accept self-sponsorships.

Hopefully some VJers who recently went through your embassy can give some more insight into this.

I am the USC/petitioner.

Our K-1 Journey
12/19/2012 - Mailed I-129F via USPS Express

12/27/2012 - Checked cashed by USCIS

05/16/2013 - NOA2 received via text/email

05/20/2013 - NOA2 hardcopy received in post

05/28/2013 - NVC receives packet and assigns London case number

I do not know. You would need to ask your lawyer why she is telling you that. Juarez accepts co-sponsors. Unless something has drastically changed very recently. So far I have not seen anyone that went through CDJ post about not being allowed to have a co-sponsor.

Well I asked lawyer and she said it was supposed to be "better" for me and that yes things changed now so they didn't even bother asking my uncle to sponsor me

Who didn't even bother asking???? Your lawyer or the officer, at the interview????

From all that I have gathered, nothing has changed within the past 2 months, in Mexico. It DOES look better, if you don't need a co sponsor, but as far as I know, it is still allowed and accepted when you don't meet the criteria.

And another thing to consider, is most consulates will not look at a "new" job as being sufficient evidence of support. Most will still want a co sponsor, when it is new, and they do not know how long you will last in this new position and earnings. So, if only your lawyer is telling you this......well then I would also gather another I-134 and proof requested in support of co sponsor, and take that with you to the interview besides your own I-134 and proof. You don't want to go to that interview unprepared. Because if they do not approve of your "new" income, they will ask for the co sponsor or just flat out deny you. Good luck.

It is not required for you to be at the interview. The USC is not even allowed in with the beneficiary. If you cannot get off work for the interview, then your fiancee should state so honestly if asked about it.

I know of nothing changing at Juarez recently. How does your lawyer know of this 'change' and what is this supposed 'change'?

As for having a new job, list your current annual income on the I-134 and provide your most recent pay stubs and letter from your employer. Figure your annual income by multiplying your hourly wage by how many hours you work per week, then multiply how much you earn a week by 52 weeks. Have your uncle fill out the I-134 and provide his supporting documents so your fiancee can have them ready if the CO thinks you need a co-sponsor.
