biometric appointment

hi there i have a biometric appointment for the morning and am out of state, my error, but thought i could change it. so i will probably miss it. the appointment is for Hackensack NJ.

I hear the case is denied if i miss it. What can i do, any ideas please?

You can go for your appointment at any ASC. The best thing you probably can do, if it's at all feasible, is check for the nearest one to wherever you are and just go there:

If it's denied you will need to file AOS all over again.

Call and reschedule, get a receipt number over the phone. It may be denied for you not attending but as long as you called to reschedule, and as long as you have that receipt number, you can get the case reopened (without fee) for incorrect denial.

Agreed. As long as they have the biometrics notice they should be able to attend the other office. If not, call and reschedule.

Thanks! So my wife can call first thing in the morning and reschedule via the 1800 number ? Even though its the date of the biometrics itself ?

If the application is denied right away would it create a problem returning back into the USA this week?

You're outside the US? You said "out of state". That makes a huge difference. Yes, if you are out of the US then if you are denied your GC is void and you will be denied entry.

You are walking a fine line. Hopefully they won't deny but if they do, you will be stuck outside the US until it's resolved.

I've a flight scheduled at 6am - I'm just across the border in Canada so can make it in time now. I just wondered if there was any way to reschedule to make it a little easier.

You should be able to reschedule it but i wouldn't risk it if you don't have to. The stress is just not worth it.

I see what you mean. For the sake of a few days and the flight price - it's not worth it - if it were anyone else they'd be fine. With my luck I'd have a living nightmare !! Thanks for the advice.
