Evidence/joint bank account question

My fiancée and I are getting married in a couple weeks in Japan. Since we both live in separate countries we don't have any joint accounts or property together. So all the supporting evidence we have to submit for the I-130 are photos, phone/text/skype records, emails, and travel receipts from over the course of our relationship.

I was thinking I could maybe open an online savings account, like an ING account, in both our names. She lived in the US for a year and has a SSN so I should have no problems. Just want to know if an online savings account is OK or if it's better it's an account from a traditional bank. Or will I be OK with the evidence I currently have and don't need to open an account?

A joint bank account is not a requirement. If you wish to go ahead and open one (even if it's online), go ahead and do so. Otherwise, the evidence you currently have is good.

To make you feel better we did not find it necessary to submit "evidence of relationship" for our I130(s).

Our first I130:

Petition

G325A His/Hers

Passport/BC page (hers)

Passport/BC page (his)

Divorce decree (his, prior marriage)

Marriage book (whatever is the equivalent official document of marriage filed / recorded wherever you got married)

Passport-style photos

Everything translated into English of course.

There was no way to open a joint account with my wife. Requires SS#, she didnt have one, never stepped foot in the US, and this would I believe be a typical case.

Our second I130:

Petition

G325A His/Hers

Passport/BC page (hers)

Passport/BC page (his)

Divorce decree (his, prior marriage)

Marriage book

Passport-style photos

Same package, exactly, with changes in the G325A's only because we lived in the US for a year then lived in Saudi for 3 years before filing a second time.

Summary: You will have more than enough evidence. LOL

If you have a joint account it is not the amount of money it just shows a continued mingling of your lives. Their is plenty of other proof you can offer, see threads on how others have accomplished this.

In Arizona its hot hot hot.
