I just got done with my interview a couple of moments ago.. Passed the test with flying colors.but the IO check the "uscis will send you a written decision about your application".. and on the buttom of the receipt it says A)Congratualtions!your application has been recommended for approval. Or B)A decision cannot yet be made about your application.. Neither A. or B. was checked.. he told me that they will review my application because I left for philippines for exactly 6 months and told me that in a couple of weeks, i will receive a notice in the mail about what to do or a notice for the oath taking..has anyone experience this?for how many weeks do you this will take?

Hey you guys,

I had my interview on November 20th! and the same thing happened to me! I had the first name changed, and after I passed my English and Civic test I got the "uscis will send you a written decision about your application" box checked as well :( the IO said she has to Reverify couple things first "nothing unusual"!

I am still waiting, since even the online status is still showing that I am on interviewing and testing still!!

any body knows how long does this usually take?

did you hear anything back from them Senzai? or checked you online status?

Only met one IO that I considered to be competent, weird to me with the USCIS for certification, you only meet with one person. Have government certifications with other agencies and always met with a board. Always an odd number, 3, 5, or 7, so the vote never ends up in a tie.

Procedure after your interview is a supervisor in your field office will review the documents and your application. This can be done in five minutes or five months. But who is being judged? You or your IO? But doesn't make any bottom line difference, if your IO didn't comply with their rules, you still end up paying the price.

Two of the IO's I met, doubt if they could even pass the English test they administer, and one didn't even know the procedure afterwards, just told my wife her application is sent somewhere and she didn't know. If a decision cannot be made due to some required document, you should be told of what that document is. If passed, should be given an approximate date as to when to expect to hear about your oath ceremony date.

At times I never questioned if these IO's were required to read their own instructions they provide to us. On three different occasions, has to be more than a coincidence, our applications were "misplaced". Good thing we have good senators to straighten matters such as these out, or we will still be waiting.

By law, they have 120 days to reply, but do you really want to bite the hand of the person that feeds you? One thing about dealing with the USCIS, you always have to be very polite and nice.

The above stated statements are so true and correct. Whenever there is an issue or seems an issue then a supervisory review is mandatory which could take either five minutes or five months, depending upon when IO gives the file to the supervisor to review or when supervisor pays attention and gets time to review it. It's just a guessing game in which I was myself struck many years ago when I was being naturalized. My application needed a supervisory review and it took them 3 months just to see a little irrelevant "issue" to review. I strongly believe that IO either forgot to give my file to the supervisor or purposely didn't give my file to the supervisor on time because officer wasn't friendly or nice with me at all. Officer even called me three times after the interview in one week just to admit something that never happened. She was totally weird and strange with me during the entire time interview occurred. Tried to intimidate me, but I sticked to my truth and didn't get intimidated at all. I got oath letter only when I kept calling to USCIS on their toll free number and requested them to status check. I believe that my file could have not touched at all if I had not bugged them over the phone to do status check.

Having said this, nobody can tell when you guys would hear from USCIS. It's just a guessing game.

Can't help but add, my country that I had to sacrifice six years of my life for is very racially biased. My wife and stepdaughter certainly went through this when they first came here. Not a problem now, they are both like Americans that were born here.

Can't help but feel our delays were caused by IO's of origins, not of the USA, but from countries that are well known not to like Hispanics, that is far more of a culture than a race.

Had a very interesting conversation with my stepdaughter last Christmas, knew nothing about her heritage. Turns out she didn't know her grandparents only lived 400 miles from where my grandparents were from. Only difference, my grandparents boarded a boat to North America, hers on a boat to South America.

Can't believe the emphasis placed by our governmental agencies on where you were born, something no individual has any choice of. Choosing the country you want to be a part of is purely choice, no one of us has any choice of the race we are born to. We are still forced to maintain citizenship in that home country completely against our will, still have family there.

Least we can visit them, most of them cannot visit us, namely because they are not extremely wealthy, need that wealth to to get a visa. Terrorists with millions of dollars backing them up, can come here, legally.

Does all this make any sense? Getting involved with immigration shed new light as to how this country of mine is really screwed up. My senators are helpless on this, still have an unmarried son we would like to bring over. Get bugged whenever I hear a politician talk about family values, doesn't even exist when dealing with the USCIS, DOS, or the NVC.
