I LOVE Microsoft's respones in your article:

Microsoft charged a behavior cited as a vulnerability in IE7--where a pop-up window can display content from a different, untrusted Web site--isn't a bug, but a feature after the behavior was reported by vendor Secunia.

Aye, Microsquish is famous for their products having "Undocumented Features". I just love the spin.....

I just found out (after Firefox crashed on the web site for the new Pontiac Solstice) that there's a new version of Firefox available. I have a bunch of custom-type stuff on mine, so I was worried about whether it would all still work or not. With one exception, it does.

I had some Yahoo image manager thing for uploading images to my Yahoo 360 blog. It wasn't compatible. Don't care. lol. My theme works fine. (You'll see that I like a very plain browser....the page is supposed to be the colourful part, in my opinion.) I've noticed something new, too..... when I type a word incorrectly here, such as *thsi*, I get a nice red line under the word letting me know that I can't spell. I like that.

Also, I don't know if this is for all themes or just mine, but the X for closing a tab has moved to the actual tab instead of being separate. It also has a "Undo Close Tab" feature!!!! That will come in VERY handy for me, I think. lol.

Anyhoo, here's a screenshot of what Firefox 2.0 looks like (with my theme). Ignore the jibberish on the left....I have dual monitors, so a screenshot grabs both of them. I didn't crop it very neatly. lol

Mozilla's got it right.

My favorite firefox feature is when you 'highlight' a word or words and 'right-click' the highlighted part and choose search the web for google. The results open is a new tab.

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

Many, many reasons to like Firefox. The #1 reason though.....

It isn't Internet Exploder.

cool

I can't believe that you are just discovering this... FF2.0 was released within days of IE7. Initially only a handful of the extensions were ready. I still have 6 or so that have not been updated. Fortunately most of the most popular ones are ready

ummm, I don't spend my time checking for updates

You obviously don't read the news either as it has been all over the rags, newsgroups, web portals, etc.... Geez...

Me either. I have much more important things to think about than Firefox updates.

Must be a slow day for you today then....

Wow....sounds like somebody whizzed in your Cheerios today dude! Lay off ok?

I can't use IE anymore - my version of 6 is corrupted and crashes whenever I enter an address into the search bar. IE7 apparently only works with XP SP2, so without rebuilding my PC (which I intend to do when I have the time) its totally unusable.

I agree....I've had nothing but trouble with IE. I have XP Pro and it still crashed with me. Firefox is serving me well. D/L the new version the other day...so far so good!

I've been using the new version of Firefox for a while now. I really enjoy it. I never use IE because it just causes to many problems. I can't ever seem to get rid of pop-ups when I'm using IE. I never have that problem with Firefox.

Just couldn't stay my @ss away!

Pop-ups still happen with me but nowhere near the problem it was when I used IE!

Biggest thing for me so far has been the fact that I have not had ANY spyware since using Firefox!

Platypus,

You have two machines called Dogbert and Ratbert?

The "Shortcut to Sian" is kinda cute, too. :P

Dogbert is my Micron Dual PIII Server.

Ratbert is my Compaq Proliant Server.

This (Athlon64 3400+) computer is Catbert.

My laptop is Dilbert.

The "Shortcut to Sian" goes to my third SATA drive where there's a "Sian" folder for all of our chats, our pictures, etc.

I would have replied sooner, but "Wally" died. Wally is my D-Link wireless router. So, no internet since 11:45pm Sunday. It was hell, let me tell ya.
