Hi everyone,

I filed the I 130 for my husband who is living in Egypt. He went for his interview on Sept 6, and they said everything seemed ok, but there needs to be administrative processing. They took his passport and said when it was done, they would send it.

Now I have been waiting for 3 months. The processing isnt done. I have heard that you can contact your congressman from your district to contact the embassy and move things along? Who has tried that? Did it work?

I contacted mine, and said that there is nothing to be done. Just wait.

Im going insane. Our first baby is due at the end of this month and I really wanted my husband to be here in the US with me :(

Well actually I contacted my Congressman and he (well actually his aid, not him) was quite helpful. They're right they can't do anything about the AP but if your congressman or senator sends an inquiry to the embassy they probably won't sit on the application when they get it back from the background check. Since your congressman wasn't helpful contact your senator. There was a whole section on my senators site about what exactly they could do (which basically is just send a letter to the embassy and ask about the status) Its still at the embassy's discretion, but thats your congressmans/senators job.

(Also get a letter from your doctor that you're pregnant and due date for the senator... he'll probably also send that to the embassy and make the matter a little more pressing)
