why does customer service suck so badly at major stores here

I'm so frustrated right now and pissed off with the effign crappy customer service at major retail stores.

In May we bought a Simmons beaturyrest bed from Macy's. At first it was great, after 3 months, the top came unstiched and started "camel humping", the boxpring started creaking and making noises, so macy's replaced it with a new set. 3 months later..same damn thing, but iwth the added mattress starting to look like a parallelogram at this point no i don't want another exact model, its a lemon. So i get a replacement authorization i go into the store and we re-select a new model around the same price but from Sealy.

Guess what? they cant' do an exchange, they want to bill me the whole thing over again, and then refund me 20 days after they pick up the defective one. Umm i don't think so i don't have that kind of money just laying around , this is your screw up just +1 -1 in your inventory and deal with it. 2 weeks later they still can't do anything so i say ** it and ask for my money back and for them to pick up this pos bed. its being picked up tomorrow.

last week i go to sears, find a great bed from Serta, decide to get it. Asked father in law if we could put it on his credit card since we have to wait 20 days after tomorrow for our refund on the old simmons bed. ordered the bed from sears on the 26th, earliest delivery was dec 2nd, guess what? the box spring came damaged a nice rip on the top. sigh.

Monday i called customer service to complain, they said they would set up an exchange and to wait for an email confirmation. yeah never got it, spoke to 2 other sears agents who said you should get it by Wednesday. nope nothing

call again today and get told. oh it was never processed!!! WTFZ!! you have to call home delivery we can't do that here. seriously? so i call home delivery and she says we wont get a new bed until dec 13th. 17 days after my original order date, and the day AFTER MY BIRTHDAY!!!. you gotta be freaking kidding me? so i freak out said get me a supervisor right now i'm fed up of this #######. not sleeping on couches / floor until then.

20 mins later all i get told is nothing they can do even though my local store shows stock online ( which is "incorrect" according to them), and they offer me a gift card for my trouble.

i mean ####### is with customer service lately? two major stores now are doing this..and its absolutely ridiculous.

The only thing making this bearable is my new puppy i rescued from the hi kill chicago animal control shelter. She is just such a love bug and cute and adorable and huggable.

That's a purty puppy.

Here's a thought for you.

Write letters of complaint, ask that your issues be addressed or you receive compensation back for their foulups.

LETTERS are much better than using the telephone, here in USA, as eventually, the letter you've written gets to the desk of the human empowered to do something.

MOST folk that answer the phone don't have that power.

Getting Snarky? Fax once a day, instead, till you get the proper response.

Oh, and, Welcome to the USA !

Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

For the record, I've had terrible experiences with Customer Service in Canada.

Walmart and Zellers have their names on my list.

Though not zellers so much being that they are going out of business (giggle)

well i would expect that from walmart and zellers honestly. then again..maybe now that the guy from kmart bought sears i should expect it there as well. but i though macy's was a tad better. well at least they gave me back my money after 6 months for the lemon i bought.

So odd, I have always had great customer service with Macys.. But ALL of my phone calls were sent overseas and never talked to anyone in North America. We just moved to Chicago last week! Still getting settled!

ps. She is very cute!!!

Worst customer service ever: Best Buy. I refuse..REFUSE to set foot in that store. I've had so many bad experiences with no resolution that it's beyond my comprehension. (Canadian Best Buy I should add, not sure about American Best Buy stores)
