Hello!

My CR-1 Visa will expire on May 2013 and we already have the date where we need to send our file to Remove Conditional Status. We'll be visiting Manila for 2 weeks

this month. I mentioned this to an acquaintance and she said "The Immigration and Airline will probably not let you leave the country since you only have a few months left on your visa." I told her about the 90-day rule and I don't see the logic behind Immigration not allowing me to leave. I used the search tool as well and never found any topic regarding this. I asked her where she got this information and she said it happened to someone she knows. I inquired what the visa the person had at that time but she doesn't know.

I haven't seen my family for such a long time and we saved up for the travel tickets so her statement stressed me out (paranoia does a lot to you). Appreciate if someone can re-assure me that I won't have any problem. Thank you so much!

P.S. I called the airline and they said there will be no problem on their side.

(This is a new account so apologies for the empty timeline. Will fill out later)

Sure.

You can travel with your card for as long as it's valid.

Just don't forget that you have to apply for Removal of Conditions. About 1 week to 10 days after you mail in your I-751, you will receive the Notice of Action that will extend your Green Card for another year. About a month later you will have your biometrics appointment. So I would suggest you mail in your I-751 one or two days before you go on vacation. That way you will have your NOA1 and your NOA2 with the biometrics appointment in your mailbox when you come back.

Hope it helps:)

Thank you! For the I-751, we won't be submitting it till March since I heard that they strictly implement the 90-day rule. If we submit it too early, they'll return it to us. Thank you again and for the timeline regarding the biometrics. :)
