She's listening to her aunt again... who is always WRONG. :bonk:

She says that PAL will NEED a photo copy of my credit card and ID for the plane ticket I purchased for her. I got the ticket through Travelocity NOT PAL. It is a PAL flight, but they have no reason to have a photocopy of my CC or ID since the ticket is NOT purchased through PAL. I have read PAL's info on their E-ticket requirements which do say they need a photo copy, but again the ticket was purchased through Travelocity.

Will she have any problems with PAL, she has the email confirmation with the ticket number. It is obviously in her name, I paid for it, it is good, just need to reassure her. :help:

Thanks in advance :innocent::thumbs:

Tell her to try to call the PAL customer service so she can have the answer on hand.

PAL requires all pax to provide the photocopy of the front copy of the cc n a valid ID if the pax is not the one who paid the etkt. Its just one of their security measures for anti fraud. Just send her a copy of it n have her printed n attached it to her etkt...

Thanks,

I believe her Aunt is correct this time, when purchasing the ticket from outside the Philippines for someone departing (Filipino) the airline usually requires a copy of the credit card and ID of the person who purchased the ticket to be presented at check in if they ask for it. They will not keep the copies it is just for verification .

I purchased my wife's ticket from Continental in 2010, I sent my wife a scanned copy of my ID and credit card, I do not remember if she was asked for proof of purchase but I do know it is a requirement.

My wife flew PAL from Manila to SFO when she came. I had read about this here on VJ and asked questions and got conflicting answers so I provided my then fiancee/now wife with both sides copies of the CC used to purchase her ticket which was through Expedia, and my driver's license copy both sides. That way whether she truly needed them or not, she had them. She never told me whether they actually checked that or not when she boarded. Doesn't matter because she had them nonetheless. I suppose I could ask her but I doubt she remembers that. It was her first flight, ever.

Wouldn't you rather have your fiancee/wife prepared and be safe rather than sorry? I believe I made my copies and then scanned them intot he computer and then sent them to her via e-mail and she printed them out. So you can get the documents to her in time before she leaves for the airport - but that time is short.

Just telling you waht I/we did.

Your call.

God bless.

Knowing airlines and the Philippines, it won't matter if it was bought through Travelocity. The workers follow the script they're given. Failure to do so puts their jobs at risk. Do you really want to chance her not being allowed to board the plane?

I emailed her the copy of front of id and cc. I told her to just keep it and use it if needed, anyway if they try to use the cc, i plan on reporting it lost once she lands. at least that way the card cant be used. my ID on the other hand.

Yes I want her here, I miss her dearly, but having my identity stolen will be really hard to fix :bonk: but i guess no one here had that happen... yet.

PAL is a PIA lol and a stickler about this rule. However I had 2 times when they never asked for my cc as well as when my sons visited me in RP before. Suggestion is to give your fiancee a copy of your credit card. Since the card has already been charged cancel the card and ask for a new number and card if you are concerned about her aunt.

Good luck

Doesn't matter where you bought the ticket, the airlines may still require seeing a copy of the credit card and it wouldn't hurt to include a copy of the driver;s license for the person on the credit card.

Smart plan. I'm surprised you got to this point already without feeling you're sending too much personal information to the Philippines. I know I was feeling that way back then. I remember my wife said do I mind waiting longer if they want it? After that I sent her a copy of anything she asked for, with instructions to only give photocopies and to redact certain types of person info such as my SS number.
