Hi everyone,

I will be using a cosponsor for the affidavit of support (my father). I do understand though that I still have to fill out a I-134 form with my name. I was looking at the form and it's asking for my place of employment and such. I am currently not working in the USA since I've been abroad for the past year. (I do work abroad though). Do you think this will be a problem? Will they give me a hard time cuz of that? And do I just leave that part blank or explain why I am not working now?

Please help! I really appreciate any responses. Thanks!!

"(I do work abroad though). Do you think this will be a problem? Will they give me a hard time cuz of that? And do I just leave that part blank or explain why I am not working now? " If you are working put your employer, if not how are you going to support your wife?, a reasonable question by USCIS. I think they may ask for USA employment if you pan to live in country. I would check the other VJ postings similar to your situation and see what their solution is or was. Hopefully a member with your facts will answer with good advice.

In Arizona its hot hot hot.

You fill out your I-134 and put your employer. You can put (employed abroad) next to it to make it clear to them. Supply your most recent tax transcript. Your co-sponsor fills out their own I-134 and they will list their US employer and provide their most recent tax transcript, letter from employer stating position and salary and their most recent pay stubs. A co-sponsor also needs to provide proof of being a USC or LPR.
