Hi, I am new here and could use some help. I am helping my wife fill out her G325 form. We were married on April 14 2012. Where is says Applicants last address outside the United States for more than 1 year. My wife has lived in Indonesia all of her life. Do I put her present address again like on the line above for addresses. She has only had one address. thanks in advance for any help. Jeff

Yes you put her current address. :)

Yes, BECAUSE it is her last address outside the USA for more than one year. If she lived there only six months, it would not be the right answer. As you move forward, you would be wise to read carefully, interpret LITERALLY and answer accurately.

Good point, but he did state it was her ONLY address she's ever had, however I can see that someone who did NOT read that could possibly interpret my answer to this particular person incorrectly. Ah yes, the wonderful world of the internet. It seems quoting and answering over and above what is asked for seems to be the lesson of the day. ;) Thank you

Yes this is still her address. I met Merry through a friend of hers here in Texas. I called her the first time on her birthday 5 years ago and we have talked almost everyday since then. I visited her for the first time for a month in April and we got married in 2 weeks and I only had a 30 day visa. I thought I could bring her back with me then. We went from Bandung to Jakarta to the US Embassy and was told the only way was to get a I-130 form and apply. I thought she could maybe get a hardship visa because her mother and father both died in the last year and she lived with them. But since I can not speak much Indonesian I could not talk to a immigration attorney. I am now worried about reasons that people are denied because I did not visit before the first time and got married. She is 44 and I am 54. I want to go through this without a lawyer. Do you think we will have a problem because of no prior visits. Indonesia is exactly half way around the world and not easy to go back and forth. One reason is that I have chronic pain in my back and hips and legs. That is why it took me so long to visit the first time. I just wanted the people here to know a little about us. thanks for all of the advise. Jeff n Merry

Pronouns are tricky things. By "this address" I take it you mean her address in Indonesia. Visitors to a country do not "live" in the country they are visiting, at least not for US immigration purposes. For other purposes, maybe. (For instance I am a registered resident at an address in China and that's the address on my Chinese driver license. For driving in China, I live there, but for any other purpose I do not. I don't even have a current visa to visit China, much less "live" there.

If you want to live together in the USA, file the I-130. When you read questions on any form in this process, read carefully, interpret literally and answer accurately. When you ask questions here, it will help if you use direct language choices and skip the pronouns. Make sure we know who is whom and where is where. It will help us answer reliably and accurately.
