God bless.

Welcome to the forum.

Which notice of action are you referring to?

There may be some confusion and a bit of clarification may be in order:

If it is the Form I-797c (AKA NOA1), receipt of initial I-129F petition: A copy is nice to have since it has provides some very useful information, such as, receipt number. The receipt number is necessary in order for you to correspond with USCIS and to check on the progress of your petition. However, if you already have your receipt number from a USCIS notification email, then you are good to go. This form is NOT necessary later on in the visa process.

If it is the Form I-797 (AKA NOA2), receipt of I-129F petition approval: It is imperative to retain a copy in your immigration records. It provides important information, such as, the beneficiaries alien number (A#), and the valid dates of the approved petition, etc. USCIS can charge you over $400 for a duplicate copy of this form. This form IS necessary later on in the visa process, specifically in the AOS phase.

Good luck on your visa journey.
