Receipt Number on NOA1 not in System?

Hi everyone, new to the site. I received our NOA1 on 10/29/2012 for a i-129F filed for on October 16th. I tried to enter the receipt number (with the EAC preceding the #) on the website and it says the case can not be found. Does is take a number of days before I can look up the case online?

Unfortunately some cases like mine did not show up online until we were approved.

That's not good, judging by the current wait times, I have no way to check daily and torture myself....

Well, you never know..they might input it still. I went through the torture for nearly 5 months. I called USCIS every couple of weeks to make sure my case was really being processed and not lost somewhere. That kind of helped, but it was still frustrating. Hopefully your case will show up soon!

I am in the same situation. Filed the petition at the end of Sept, got the EAC# on October 2nd, but my case is not found in the USCIS website. I called them just now and the representative said that my case is not found in the system. It's been 30 days since I received the EAC# and it's still not in the system??? Hope it turn up soon.

Thanks, I tried again today with no luck. I did call them the day I received it because they listed her country of Birth as the US instead of Brazil. I received a confirmation number for the change, even though she also told me it was not in the system yet, hopefully it get's corrected before they "touch" our case........

If it's not online at the status portal thingie, a CSR can't see it either.

OTOH, an ISO can see it - so if you really need to get some confirmation,

call into USCIS, talk with the CSR a bit, ask to be transferred to an ISO,

then ask the ISO to look up yer casefile.
