Im sorry to hear your story. I am a Filipina myself, and my fiancee in USA only makes $20,000 a year, and has no degree but i do respect him and love him with all my heart, and when i get there, I can even work my #### off for both of us and he can stay home if he wants. because he had done so much for me, financially and emotionally. (L)

Not all filipinas are like the one you married. Im sure you'll find the right one and marry again :innocent:

i just really don't understand why one person would do such thing.

Good luck on your journey.

Good for You

In Arizona its hot hot hot.

Hi, Don't really know where to post this but I met a Filipina online, we fell in love, I went to Philippines, met her, spent 2 weeks with her, took her to Boracay and Baguio city, everything perfect. Did the K-1 Visa, she got here, we married. She did not want to work. We had a baby, she got her green card. When she met other Filipinas here who married rich men, and have big houses, swimming pools and lots of spending money, they treated her like ####### because her husband is not rich and lives in a mobile home.

So, she decided money is now her goal and I cannot provide it because I don't have a degree and just will never make a lot of money. She is 30 and I am 52 so I know she also wants to live life and have fun but I could never afford to take her out and buy her things because I don't make enough and she would not work or could not work because of the baby. She found out RN's make a lot of money so she applied for and got free education to become a nurse so she quit her p/t job to go to school full time and that put us in bankruptcy....then left me for a man that makes more money, sued me for divorce, child support and Alimony. Now with all the welfare she gets, all the money I have to give her and whatever she gets from her boyfriend, she just goes to school full time and does not have to work. She and her bf will marry as soon as our divorce is over and then with her nursing income and his executive income, they will make a lot of money together. I only make $35k a year but he makes well over 100k. So now, we are separated and will have final divorce in a year. Sucks to be me, huh?

So now I'm alone and nearly broke after paying her 40% of my income in child support and alimony but I am 1/2 Filipino and want to keep my connection to the Philippines and I dont think all Filipinas are bad, I just got one that was and I want another one....not so young maybe. I'd like to find one already here but there are so few where I live. I'm wondering if I can get another one from the Philippines after I divorce. What will USCIS think about it? What are the rules and pros and cons? Can I even do it even if I can somehow get the money to do it all again?

Anyone here ever had another wife immigrate here from PH? Any thoughts are appreciated.

Sorry to hear your plight. It is really a heart broken situation you are in.You can find many other Filipino partners but is that what you really want?.You can look for one already in the States looking for commitment.USCIS will raise eyes on your petition next time you file to bring somebody over...

You know what you want and you just need to be alert because any partner younger than you will still love to enjoy llife. So I suggest you find somebody around your age and I think that will help.

Good luck to you

May God Bless Us All In This New World. We All Have Come From Afar And We Need The Lord's Guidance For Success.

NB:I am not an Immigration Attorney, All i say here is based on my personal experiences through K-1 visa process and CR1/IR1 visa process.

$20,000 a year is really small. It's like making minimum wage in Philippines. But if you're making minimum wage in Philippines then you probably won't be making too much of an adjustment when you come over here. Just pray that you or your future husband don't get sick. Otherwise, you'll drown in debt.

Good luck to you!

met a Filipina online, we fell in love,

40% of my income in child support and alimony

Don't agree with falling in love over the web but that's just me. Child support will end and it's for the kid. Not sure how she got alimony though. In any case my advice to Men has always been to never ever allow your Wife to be a SAHM, ever.

How did she get it into her head that RNs make a lot of money? lulz.

/unless you marry a doctor, I guess

Compared to in the Phillipines, RNs in the USA make good money.

In several years she'll be remarried and you can ask the courts to lower your child support payments....just some thoughts.

Btw...I'm Steve

Not true. The custodials parents income is never looked at, at least in Texas. She can be a millionaire and married to a billionarie and the poor non custodial sap will still pay CS. System is broken.

'Tis a bit harsh val erie!

I agree.

well that's unfortunate. nothing i said was harsh. i'm american and not at all materialistic. i know plenty of people who are american - and not materialistic. and my gleaning from his post has nothing to do with his lack of eloquence. it has to do with the attitude that wives are a possession to get from a particular country. and that's what i got from his story, nothing more.

You're judgemental. OP has expressed regret in his choice of words. Show some tact and do the same in return to him.

--------------

OP, keep your head up, forget about the Ex and what she's up to. Focus on yourself and your kid. Next time develop a relationship first before doing the K1. You said you are part FIlipino, go to the home country for a month or so and socialise and meet the right person there. IMHO, anyone on the web looking to date an American is suspect, that's just me - I know tons will disagree.

I like the suggestion fo going to Hawaii, if true then this is worth noting.

Good luck.

PS: I pay child support on four kids so I know how it hurts financially, most Men that are not in the contentious divorce/child support hell will NEVER understand.

Also before you get into another relationship, fix yourself first, you have some cuplability too (everyone does) maybe yours is falling in love too fast. I knwo I took time out to correct what I thought were my failings in my previous marriage.

i don't know why you're always trying to tell me what to post but, but to clarify - the op did not at all express regret. he only said that he learned such choice of words was from his ex wife. you're not doing this man any favors acting as if having an ownership attitude towards women is 'tactful'.

Trust me on this, I have absolutely no interest in "always" telling you what to post. If I suggest similar to you in the past then perhaps you can do self reflection or simply add me to your ignore filter.

The OP is not married to you and I am nto the ONLY person to have questioned your continued lack of tactfulness.

"Allow"? laughing.gif You "allow" your wife to do something? laughing.gif

Oh lordy.

Not sure about the way you turned my response around but whatever floats your boat, it's on you. I will never ever have a non working Spouse. You see I've been divorced before and I know the effect of having a SAHW when going through a divorce. If you've never been divorced please be thankful and let the advice sink in to those that may benefit. The intelligent response might be asking me why I have this opinion.

Should I start wearing a "cup" when I post now? :o

I enjoy this specific forum. It's saddening and entertaining at the same time seeing how cruel peopel can be to each other. Especially those who professed love at some point.

oh, isn't it not true that RN earns a lot of money? :luv:

Yes! I make six figures, ride around in a brand new car, and wear only the best designer clothing.

But not really. I do, however, get to go to work in my pajamas. So that's a plus.

My cdiff poop, vomit, and piss stained pajamas.

Pretty sure that in the Philippines, the dude working at my local McDonald's makes a great living wage. Doesn't mean that he actually makes good money in the US.

According to http://money.cnn.com/2012/11/01/news/economy/wages-jobs/index.html?iid=HP_LN, RN's median wage is $32/hour or $66,560/year. That's a lot more than what the OP makes which is $35k. Sure, there are other jobs that pay more like CEO of a Wall Street company, but his ex-wife is probably thinking of something that pays more and is also achievable. RNs is more achievable than a CEO. :)

Good luck with that. West coast wages tend to inflate the median RN wage. I also have no idea whether CRNA/NP wages are included. (Good luck finding a job, btw on the west coast as RN -- I believe the stats are that 55% of new nursing grads in CA do not find nursing jobs.)

I'm a nurse. I make about $26.50/hr working nights and this is a really, really good wage for my area. My dad is a doctor. He makes about $450,000/year.

Probably, I don't work at McDonalds so I have no idea what they make. I work in a hospital, 75% of my team mates are from the Phillipines and they validated what I said. YMMV.

It's really common sense but thanks for backing it up with data which I'm sure will be laughed at.

I took a quick look at my employers job board and there are 375 hospital job openings (not all are RNs) but the RNs position have a referral offer of $1k.
