when i returned in sept i brought half of her things then she thinks maybe 1-2 large suit cases mostly winter clothes

it will rarely get 'that cold' in Houston, but 1 or 2 medium coats with some long pants and woolen underbritches will be fine.

this morning i talk sveta she said the officer from kyiv called and asked few more questions ie

has she ever been to usa in 2008

has she ever meet someone from other country in 2008

asked detail infomarion about her sister

and asked who is chris her reply about chris was she not know maybe rons brother

then they said thank you

housr later a friend called the offiver for more info and was told sveta is approved visa be mailed in few days also i find sveta was never given a tracking number is this the norm?

i was told by ustraveldocs to send email to passportstatus@ustraveldocs.com with passport number and in few minutes will get status in reply and reply was ( The current status of your passport is In Transit To Post

ya, perhaps is basic ap , waiting on her documents

but with the phone calls, it might be a longer ap.

don't sweat this for now, but do call in to DoS Hotline every day, as the casefile status can change.

why would they tell our friend visa is approved but dos says in ap status?

DoS Hotline can be 'off' by up to 24 hours, so it's not that 'real time' as we all want it to be.

Why would her friend even be allowed to get status from a Consular Officer at an IV Unit? Usually, that's not allowed (at least in those IV Units that actually utilise a telephone for inquiries )
