Received Notice of Reuqirement to file joint petition

Hi,

I am a conditional resident, and was just starting to prepare my I 751. So far, my understanding was that I can file no earlier than 90 days before the expiration date on my greencard, which is still a month away (Dec 12). Also, I thought the USCIS would send no reminders, in fact the letter accompanying my green card said so.

However, today i got a letter (see attachment) from USCIS Service Center in VT, telling me i have to file petition I751. Does that mean i can and should file right away? And does anybody know why the are sending notices out like that all of a sudden?

A lot of people get these, we did. It doesn't change when you should file, you still need to wait until your 90 day window opens.

It's simply a courtesy notice reminding you that must file to remove conditions. Sometimes people get them, sometimes they don't. It doesn't make any material change to what application you need to file or when you need to file it, which is within the 90 day window immediately preceding the expiration date on your green card.

Your 90 day window opens on Nov 12th, not Dec. 12th as you stated above.
