Hi guys, does anyone know how long after the interview with the embassy can I leave the country? I mean, if I had the interview on November 20th, could I leave on November 22nd?

Hi there,

As long as you get your passport back you can leave when you wish. Not sure how the process goes in Argentina but in Australia once you get your passport + envelope back you can leave the country.

Visas are not printed the same day. Check in the regional forum and the embassy reviews to learn the typical visa delivery time.

Do not make plans until you have the visa in hand.

You will have to wait for DHL to delivery your passport to your selected address before you will be able to leave the country. I think 10-14 business days is the amount of time the quote. Typically is delivered before then if I understand correctly though.

Relationship and I-130 Process

Sometime in October, 2011: We met online talking about Argentina.
Later in October: Met in person in Philadelphia and became good friends.
March 4, 2012: Became girlfriend and boyfriend, officially.
March 21: Gloria leaves the US at the end of her J-1 Visa.
April 9: Got engaged!
May 12-26: Chris visits Buenos Aires.
May 18: Got married in Argentina :) Happy day!!
May 29: Sent out I-130
June 4: NOA1 received.
August 17-20: Chris visits again.
September 22-29: Chris 3rd visit, Gloria's birthday!
November 11-January 5: Chris stays in Argentina almost 2 months, Gloria is happy!
December 28: NOA2 YAY!!!
December 31: Package received at NVC.
January 18, 2013: Got case # and IIN.
February 6: Case complete!!
February 11: Interview assigned.
February 25: Package received at Embassy in Buenos Aires.
March 18: Interview Approved!!
March 28: Visa received.
March 29: Houston POE

April 11: received greencard!!!!!!!

January 9, 2015: sent out form I-751

Hola!

It usually takes 7 business days in Argentina to get your passport back. However, for what I understand, if you have a valid reason, they might expedite your passport.

NOA2 Approved 158 days after NOA1
NVC Received CaseFile: March 12, 2012
NVC Casefile Number Issued: March 21, 2012
NVC AOS and IV reflect paid: March 26, 2012
NVC AOS and IV packages sent: March 27th, 2012
Checklist received April 4, 2012--NVC lost my DS-230!
Case Complete: April 13, 2012 !!!!!!
Interview Scheduled: June 5th, 2012!!
Medical Exam Passed: May 28, 2012
Interview: PASSED!!
Port of entry: June 12th, at MIA!!!

Removal of Conditions

March 19, 2014: Sent I-751

March 21, 2014: Check Cashed
