I just want to add that Libya has beautiful music BUT it's my belief that music is haraam so I'm not going to find any links for that :P

LOL, if music is haram then I think I'm going straight to hell.

 Of all the things I have given up since converting to Islam (some pretty outlandish things that you wouldn't believe) music is the one I miss the most

I could NEVER give up music. Its such a huge part of my life (my father is a musician). I have really never heard of anyone giving up things to be a Muslim, some obvious things yes. What do you mean by outlandish? I'm really curious because this is the first time I have heard this and music is such a huge part of arab life all over the Middle East. I will understand if you don't want to elaborate but I think lots of people are wondering.

I just meant things I used to do before I converted that are not acceptable in Islam. I'd rather not get into everything. The obvious things are drinking, gambling, pork and things like that.

As far as music... it's just the music itself that I believe is haraam, not singing and I know not everyone agrees and that's cool for them. (F)

Actually its not that outlandish, my brother used to be a born again christian and he wouldn't even watch movies! Are movies considered haram? I never understood why my brother thought so.
