Incorrect information on visa

I emailed the Embassy inquiring about what to do with the visa since it had incorrect information on it. They emailed me several times with different information. I’m not quite sure if they even know what to do. At first they said, my fiancé has the option of correcting the visa before he travels or he can inform POE what is incorrect and they will make the necessary corrections at that time. Then about an hour later, they replied again saying he needs to take the passport to the Embassy for it to be corrected BEFORE traveling and it would take 3-4 days to fix. I guess it’s better to deal with the hassle now rather than later.

Of the people I know that had the same situation, they had to go back to the Embassy to get a new visa stamped, before travelling.

One case from Argentina comes to mind. At first she was told that it wouldn't matter (they had misspelled the USCs name on it), and then they emailed her again and instructed to go to the Embassy. She went, got a new visa with the right information and voila.

So, I would ask them to tell you when he should go and have him take his passport back ASAP.

So, I would ask them to tell you when he should go and have him take his passport back ASAP.

Yeah, he went to the Embassy today and they said it should be ready by Monday at the latest.
