Question...

We just received our interview notice for our AOS (concurrent filing). I am a bit confused as to birth certificates for children and what is required. I have all my appropriate documents but my husband at this point has none. I am under the impression that he (the non USC) is required to bring birth certificates for each of his children born out of our marriage, is this correct? And can it be copies or must it be originals? And my last question is, what about for children over the age of 21? I hope someone can help, an infopass may be after our interview at this stage...

I asked a similar question recently. The notice is a bit confusing. I'm the USC in our case, I have 2 kids. My husband has no kids. I was told by the people here that they only want birth certs for the immigrant's children. It was not an issue during our interview at all.

6/19/2012 - Biometrics completed.

7/02/2012 - Text/email/hard copy notification of interview.

8/02/2012 - Interview @ 2:00

Thank you all for your responses. I am still a bit confused, called USCIS yesterday with really no clarification. We both have kids from previous marriages, I have my kids birth certs but his kids we don't have them at this point. His oldest is over 21 and the other two aren't immigrating. It will be a hassle to get them but I want to be prepared.. Ugh!!
