In the $40K - $50K range, there were 4.2 million households that owed no federal income taxes. Over 3.5 million households in the $50K-$100K income group owed no federal income taxes in 2011. Almost half a million households making between $100K and $1M owed no federal income taxes and even seven thousand households making more than $1M owed nada.

So, we are talking about more than 8 million households that certainly do not fall into the "very poor" category that owe zero federal income taxes.

The 47% of people who pay no income tax are in the below average category. If you think anyone who made over 500k payed no income tax, you're certifiable.

In most "counties"? Last I checked we were talking about 46% of the COUNTRY, not counties. You like to twist the facts to suit your arguement.

First, it was 47%. Second, I was illustrating what the median wage across the country actually is. In most places, it's far below the national median of $50K. The map illustrates that quite nicely.

Sorry, it's circular logic, and very apparent as to 'why it works'.
