Hey y'all!

My wife filed I-130 end of July, and it was registered at USCIS on July 30th. We've been looking at processing times, and they are set for 5 months at the moment. Then counting forward, if following the USCIS processing dates, the visa should be approved by end of December, but when do they close office to go on Christmas break? Should we expect it to be approved when office opens again in January?

If the petition is approved by December....that does not give you a visa.

You still have a lot of processing to do at NVC.

It took me 4 months from my USCIS approval to get our interview date.

USCIS does not close for Christmas break. They like all Federal agencies will get Tuesay Dec, 25th 1012, and Tuesday Jan 1st 2013, off as Federal holidays.
