Hi everyone! I am a US navy wife from the Phils, married since 2009.. finally after a year of waiting our IR-1 case was completed. I just received an email from nvc today about my interview schedule and that will be next month. But unfortunately, after a long wait my husband/petitioner will soon be deployed overseas..  he will be onboard next month for a 1-month training and there will be a possibility that he will be deployed immediately for 6 months or more.. I am in a mixed emotion right now.. Is there anybody here who is/have been in the same situation?

are you on his orders, by any chance? If so, you can ask for an earlier date (via email) to the IV Unit

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

To Darnell.. Thank you for your reply.. I just talked to my husband and he said next month will only be a pre-deployment training.. His home port will still be in San Diego.. but he said that there is a chance that he will be deployed immediately.. I think i am not in his deployment orders.. my concern is that since he will be away, and it is also my first time in the US, he said that it is best that i stay with his family in guam for the mean time while waiting for his return.. So instead of putting san diego as my port of entry i wrote guam in the ds 230. Will that be alright?

truly, it doesn't matter where the POE city is.

What DOES matter is 'that other address' on the DS-230, where the greencard will be mailed.
