Hello Everyone,

Last week on Thursday I sent my wife's AOS package & today I received 3 separate emails - USCIS Acceptance Confirmation with 3 different Receipt Numbers.

  • Will we be using these receipt numbers for checking the status online till the end or is there another number which we will get when the physical mail comes?

Also please can someone guide me with all the proofs / evidence which needs to be collected for the AOS interview (I know it's several months out but want to get a head start).

  • I have read several places where they mention including Wife's name on the lease but we live in a house which I own & I checked with the bank about adding her name - they said only way to do that would be to refinance & add her name, is that true? Is having the name on the lease / mortgage that crucial?

We already have a joint bank account number, she's has been added to my medical insurance plan & she's the primary beneficiary on my Life Insurance Policy - what else. We have already taken a few trips together after marriage & are taking lots of pictures / saving receipts.

Thank You.

Use the receipt numbers from the emails - the ones in the mail will be the same

Not necessary to refinance

You may or you may not get interview, If your case will be transferred to CSC or california service center, There's a big chance of no interview but you'll have to wait longer, if not transfer then you will get interview. You have to bring photo copies of wedding, especially with both family parties, and joint account statements. that's the main two things they will check. (That's what they did to my cousin and his wife during their interviews) and don't forget to wear your wedding ring/s :D

You have quite a bit already, more than what I showed to the IO during our interview. :)

The goal is not to have all sort of evidences and the most as possible, but some good ones. A joint bank account, joint medical insurance, joint life insurance are some really good ones. Pictures are also good. You are well prepared!
