I heard of another one just recently also going to the National Benefits Center

...But did not keep up on the outcome of that case.

Here. Checking in for the Missouri I-130 roll call.

USCIS: 307 days from NOA1 to NOA2 (no RFE's)

15JUN2012 USC married in Côte d'Ivoire
13AUG2012 I-130 sent by FedEx to Chicago
15AUG2012 I-130 packet delivered to mailroom, per FedEx.com
18AUG2012 NOA1, rcvd SMS & email saying case is routed to Vermont Service Center, later rcvd by snail mail
21AUG2012 the date on next I-797C received only by snail mail, says petition transferred to Lee's Summit,MO
28AUG2012 "touch" (website shows case was updated)
03OCT2012 the date casefile was sent to Atlanta, per phone call with ISO
01FEB2013 infopass at Atlanta, casefile has not even been assigned to anyone yet!

21JUN2013 NOA2, email received! USCIS website is updated! No SMS was received.

Letter rcvd later by snail mail from NBC, Lee's Summit, MO; however, I know file was adjudicated in Atlanta.

NVC:

11JUL2013 the date NVC says they received our file

19JUL2013 called and got Case # and IIN #, gave email addresses

22JUL2013 received DS-3032 and AOS invoice by email, mailed DS-3032

they have already transfered files before august 2012,?, or is this the first time? curious :)

it was a mis-routing.

Ask your wife to call into USCIS, get an ISO human, and see what's up.

Missouri doesn't handle Visas for spouses of USCitizens.

After I got the transfer notice, I did a search on google and read online that the National Benefits Cente handled backlog reduction a few years ago for petitions, including I-130s, from Texas Service Center. So, it may not be normal for them, but couldn't they possibly be processing our I-130s, Darnell? I mean there are so many of us here and also on other forums with petitions received on different August dates not just by Vermont but also by California, I see from this thread, being routed to Missouri. For a mis-routing, that would be a pretty major screw up.

Yup, a massive screw up, based on 'software programming' done by SERCO INC.

Complain loudly and often.

Purty Please?

Way down at the bottom of

http://www.dhs.gov/cis-ombudsman-update-getting-most-out-your-call-uscis-national-customer-service-center

is the CIS ombudsman's email address, cisombudsman@dhs.gov

I strongly suggest you fire off an email, contents resembling:

1. USCIS Receipt #

2. statement of misrouting (NBC vs NVC vs EAC vs WAC)

3. ask that immediate investigation be started, as you know of MANY cases with this mis-routing

4. ask that immediate review of ROUTING software be started, as the software used for routing was changed in April 2012.

So what I'm understanding is it's a screw up? What if your case status now says it's at a USCIS location being processed after you got the letter saying it was transferred to MO? Do you think they fixed it?

USCIS

08/13/2012: I-130 sent to Chicago Lockbox from Jordan (Nahda Office)

08/21/2012: NOA1

8/21/2012 : NOA1 Hardcopy

8/28/2012 : 1-797C Action Transferred to NBC (Assuming sent to Atlanta Local office...but no telling)

O9/4/2012 : Last touched.

2/26/2013 : Infopass with Atlanta (confirmed file is there and no action yet. To be started in March)

03/18/2013 : 2nd Infopass (No review or processing of any stand-alone I-130s for 60-90 days. URGHHHHHHHHHH)

04/6/2013: NOA2 (228 days from NOA1)

NVC

05/10/13 USCIS Atlanta letter to me confirms this date as sent to NVC

05/20/13 NVC Received Case (Waiting on case number)
06/7/2013 NVC case number assinged
06/7/2013 Choice of agent complete now awaiting fees

Gave up tracking when I left overseas...but we are almost done biggrin.png!

TERMINATED SEPTEMBER 27, 2012.

I just wanted to say that I did take Darnell's advice and contacted the ombudsman. A nice representative from the ombudsman's office called me and basically told me that since the normal processing time had not expired as yet, no one will probably start an investigation.

And prior to contacting the ombudsman, I did call customer service and talked to a tier 2 officer who confirmed my file was in Missouri and insisted that it was not a misrouting, though he could not explain why it would be sent there.

Just to give a bit of background on my case... I'm a USC. My husband has never been to the USA. My I-130 got transferred from Vermont so fast that the transfer notice came in the mail before the receipt notice from Chicago. I don't believe for a second it was because of some red flags.

In case anyone else wants to take Darnell's advice, this is the link to file a complaint with the ombudsman

https://cisombvos.dhs.gov/vos/form7001.aspx

Good luck to all of us August I-130 filers! I will post on my timeline and signature if I have any updates.

Cheers,

Treva
