Hello,

Let me first begin by giving a general overview of my situation. I met a girl online who lives in Australia, and I myself live in the US. We have been together now for nearly 9 months and she is planning on visiting me in October of this year and staying here for 3 months. If things go well during this 3 months I will propose to her and apply for the fiance visa. Now the part that I find difficult is when it comes to proving that I can support her.

For the past five years up until just yesterday I have been working at a part-time job for 13 hours a week making peanuts while I went to college. My savings account is quite low. However, I also just recently finished my college degree and was hired to a job that nets me $37500 a year. With this job I can comfortably meet any requirements I have seen, the problem is the forms indicate that I would need to prove the income with tax returns. This means my new job would not exactly be shown for on my tax return because the year is almost over.

What am I supposed to do in this situation? Is there any thing that I am missing or that can be done to prove that I am able to support her now?

Thank you

*** Moving from General Immigration to K1 fiance visa forum ****

I think oyu will be fine- by the time you need the I-134 filed in 8+ months from now, you will have plenty of pay stubs and bank statements showing your current income.
